Little League International has recently changed the way background checks will be conducted for all little league. Instead a new company will be used and is coordinated through Little League Baseball which is called J.D. Palatine (JDP).
By using this new solution for volunteer background checks, each volunteer will be able to use a provided online service (JDP QuickApp) that will allow all of your personal information being requested to be kept secured inside the JDP's system environment with no other sensitive, personal information released or visible to any other third party.
The New Process (please read carefully): Every Volunteer Must Register Each Year
All volunteers new or returning must send an email to the league safety officer to [email protected] with your first and last name and an email address where you would like to receive the link. Once you receive the link you will have 14 days to fill it and the link will expire. Volunteers must complete all sections of the background application.
Anyone who wants to be considered for a coach/volunteer position must fill out all the necessary information on the JDP site in order to be considered for managing or coaching position - no exceptions! The email will have the following heading: PARAMUS LITTLE LEAGUE Background Questionnaire Notification so please look for it.
After you complete the necessary information on the JDP website, you will receive a confirmation number which you will need to print out and keep for your records demonstrating that you completed the process. Please make sure to click and fill this information out as soon as possible as the link is only good for a period of 14 days from the time it is sent. If you do not register and complete all the necessary information required on JDP site and receive a confirmation, you will not be an approved volunteer for the upcoming 2021 Spring baseball season.
Once volunteers are approved under the new JDP process, PJBL will include their name on its web site (www.paramuslittleleague.com) under "Volunteers" as an approved volunteer which will enable managers and league officials to have the ability to ensure that all individuals are certified to be on the field. However, please note, that volunteering and being approved through the JDP process does not guarantee you a spot as a manager or coach. Managers will select their coaches once the drafts/formation of teams are completed and only then will you be allowed to be on the field interacting with the players. The safety of our children is paramount so the PJBL must take a "no exception" policy when it comes to volunteers on the field as we take this very seriously and will not tolerate anyone who violates this policy.
